Get ready for the frenzy. Trader Joe’s is bringing back its viral mini canvas tote bags. And this time, the grocery store chain releasing them in vivid, saturated Halloween colors.
What do the new Trader Joe’s Mini Tote Bags look like?
The new mini canvas tote bags will come in four Halloween colors you probably won’t say “boo!” to. There’s a black bag with an orange Trader Joe’s logo, an orange bag with black lettering, a purple bag with green lettering and an especially fetching multi-color tote featuring a black main section, purple base, bright-green handles and orange lettering.
While Trader Joe’s has not specified the dimensions of these new totes, previously released mini totes measure about 13 inches long, by 11 inches tall, by 6 inches wide.
When can I buy the new Trader Joe’s Halloween Mini Tote Bags?
Trader Joe’s plans to have the new totes stocked and available in stores nationwide on Wednesday, October 8. They’ll be priced at $2.99 each. “If customers have any questions about product availability, they can ask any Crew Member in their neighborhood store,” a Trader Joe’s spokesperson tells us.
If past Trader Joe’s tote bag releases are any indication, these Halloween-themed mini totes may draw crowds. The store’s other limited-edition mini tote drops — like this one in September 2024 and this one in April 2025, just to name two — had people standing for hours in long lines snaking around the blocks in front of stores and grabbing at rapidly diminishing piles of bags, despite many stores limiting the number customers can purchase.
And given the fact that the bags from this drop are already going for around $50 on eBay — yes, before they’ve even been released — you can probably expect similar levels of excitement and insanity.
Anticipation for Trader Joe’s new Halloween-themed mini totes is building on social media.
“I don’t need more totes. I don’t need more totes. I don’t need more totes. I’m gonna buy all the totes,” wrote one commenter on a Trader Joe’s subreddit.
“I don’t need these. And yet, I absolutely need them,” another concurred.
“I never understood the hype for these bags, but I desperately need the green, black, and orange one,” a third said.
People shared plans to use these bags for lunches, small shops, gifts and even as purses.
And one considerate Redditor wrote: “Thoughts and prayers for the Crew Members in these trying times.”
