Maybe this really is the year Thanksgiving won’t break the bank. Just a few days after Aldi announced that it was offering a complete Thanksgiving meal for 10 people for $40, Walmart has announced that it is offering a complete Thanksgiving meal “as a one-click basket serving 10 people for less than $40.” Yes, that’s less than $4 per person.
Walmart has offered an annual Thanksgiving meal deal since 2022. but this year’s meal, it says, will be offered at the lowest price yet.
The full, family-friendly holiday meal will include more than 20 items — some national brands, some store brands — including Stove Top stuffing and a Butterball turkey for $.97 per pound. That’s the lowest price for a Thanksgiving Butterball turkey Walmart has offered since 2019. And if you’ve never ordered for pick-up or delivery with Walmart before, the retail giant will throw in express delivery on your meal basket for free.
What’s in this year’s Walmart Thanksgiving Meal?
Walmart’s Thanksgiving meals are designed to offer “value,” “abundance” and “convenience,” according to the retail chain. “We want every family to be able to share a meal and celebrate without compromising on quality, quantity or tradition,” Walmart U.S. President and CEO John Furner says in a press release.
This year’s meal includes:
- Butterball Turkey, 13.5 pounds ($0.97/pound)
- Kinder’s Fried Onions, 4.5 ounces
- Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup, 10.5 ounces (1 can)
- Stove Top Turkey Stuffing, Twin Pack 2 x 6 ounces
- Great Value Dinner Rolls, 12 count
- Fresh Russet Potatoes, 5 pounds
- Fresh Cranberries, 12 ounces
- Great Value Baby Carrots, 2 pounds
- Great Value Corn, 15 ounces (3 cans)
- Great Value Green Beans, 14.5 ounces (3 cans)
- Great Value Artisan Macaroni & Cheese, 12 ounces (3 boxes)
- Great Value Brown Gravy Mix, 0.87 ounces (2)
- Great Value Pie Crusts
- Great Value Evaporated Milk, 12 fluid ounces
- Great Value 100% Pure Pumpkin, 15 ounces
Walmart is also offering three one-click meal-basket variations on this holiday meal aimed at accommodating customers with different needs or preferences as well as holiday gatherings beyond Thanksgiving:
Its Gluten-free Thanksgiving meal offers a complete meal featuring main dishes, side dishes and desserts that are all gluten-free.
A Balanced Thanksgiving swaps in high-protein dishes like Goodles Mac & Cheese and cauliflower mashed potatoes as well as the ingredients for a high-protein pumpkin dessert.
Meanwhile, a Prime Rib meal basket offers a non-turkey holiday meal option, featuring Choice Angus beef, salad, potatoes and wine.
